To Ensure access of poor helpless and destitute and Old Aged persons in Bandarban to safe accommodation, tender love, proper care, nourishment, health service and other basic needs through establishment and operation of a sustainable Old Aged home.
There are number of old age poor people’s in every villages, some are living with one meal and some of them living without wife without husband, without children and some of them Living terminated by their children and daughter in laws and son in law’s. The poor people don’t even get food, cloth and shelter which are the basic needs of any human being.
In this regard our Padmavathi Mahila Mandali is running the old age home since from 1999 till date. This home was kindly supported by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi. In this home we are providing shelter, Nutrition food, Medical Support, Recreation for 25 poor and deserving old aged men and women age round about 60-70. The home also providing counseling for these old age people.
Our Mahila Mandali has conducted Medical & Health Campaign at Govt. school of Kamalapuram Mandal. Nearly 740 school children were participated in these camps. Resource Person from Medical and Health Department took part in these camps and motivated the children about the methods of hygiene, keeping the surroundings clean, how to purify the drinking water and how to keep their health in good condition.
Our Padmavathi Mahila Mandali staff has fully participated in conducting the Pulse Polio Programme. The President of PMM, invited the Local Govt. Doctor, ANMs and other resource persons to participate in this programme. In view to aware the parents about the pulse polio drops the Mahila Mandali conducted a camp at Kadapa slums. About 529 children were given pulse polio drops and they were immunized against the diseases during their infancy.
