The PADMAVATHI MAHILA MANDALI, Kadapa is a Non Governmental Voluntary Organization established in the year 1989 and was registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 on 11th day of January 1989 with bearing Regd. No. 03/1989. The Mahila Mandali was enrolled in NGO DARPAN and obtained the registration Unique ID :: AP/2015/0086858.
The Mahila Mandali works in one of the mostly backward district (YSR Kadapa) of Andhra Pradesh where more than 50% of the population is rural and tribal people who, due to their isolation and lack of awareness, have been cut off from the mainstream of society and deprived of the basic amenities of life. We work in Kadapa and Khajipet Mandals of YSR Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh reaching out to nearly 2400 households. We plan our activities based on analysis of the socio-economic contexts and the community dynamics of the area, with emphasis on community empowerment. Our programmes are unique in the sense as it is basically directed towards involving Community Based Organizations in every aspect including project planning, implementation, monitoring and management.
To build such a self-reliant society, free from hunger and exploitation, where everyone irrespective of caste, creed, sex and language have right to dignified means of livelihood and through collective action ensure socio-economic justice and ecological balance.
To look after the elderly people with utmost care and empathy in a pleasant atmosphere to lead a peaceful life till their last journey. To extend the facilities of the home to more number of needy persons in the society. To continue to survive by bringing together the hands of all like-minded people
There are number of old age poor people’s in every villages, some are living with one meal and some of them living without wife without husband, without children and some of them Living terminated by their children and daughter in laws and son in law’s. The poor people don’t even get food, cloth and shelter which are the basic needs of any human being.
Our Mahila Mandali has conducted Medical & Health Campaign at Govt. school of Kamalapuram Mandal. Nearly 740 school children were participated in these camps. Resource Person from Medical and Health Department took part in these camps and motivated the children about the methods of hygiene, keeping the surroundings clean.
Our Padmavathi Mahila Mandali staff has fully participated in conducting the Pulse Polio Programme. The President of PMM, invited the Local Govt. Doctor, ANMs and other resource persons to participate in this programme. In view to aware the parents about the pulse polio drops the Mahila Mandali conducted a camp at Kadapa slums.
